The greenware is loaded onto kilns, and fired up to
1300 degrees Celsius for more than 12 hours, or called
bisque firing. Vitrified and now having a bisque finish,
the items are no longer porous. The process ensures
that products do not leak nor absorb moisture. Items
are again polished through sanding and grinding for
an even smoother finish.
If items require glazing, color is first applied
before the glaze and once again fired at 1100 degrees
Celcius for about 8 hours. Cayana products only use
transparent glaze that have passed international tests
for lead and cadmium.
