Starting with clay preparation, calcined bone ash
is milled finely and mixed with porcelain clay. The
mixture goes through a series of screening and cleansing
to remove dirt and iron particles. This process ensures
the natural "high whiteness" inherent to
genuine fine bone china.
Items are formed using slip casting where clay is
poured manually onto the moulds which form the greenware.
Flowers, petals, shells and other appliqués
are individually formed by hand, put together piece
by piece using a special mixture of clay. Cutworks
are also meticulously made by hand according to design.
